The Houston family and all those who loved her got some closure with the Los Angeles Coroner’s office’s release of singer Whitney Houston’s cause of death. They ruled that her death was officially caused by accidental drowning. There were traces of Cocaine in her system at the time of death and they also assert that the combination of the drugs and a previously existing heart disease were the main contributing factors in her death. Officials also state that she had traces of prescription drugs Xanax and Flexeril in her system. The toxicology report also listed traces of Benadryl and marijuana.
The legendary singer died on February 11, 2012. She was found by her bodyguard, submerged in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. She was unresponsive to CPR and other efforts to save her life, and was pronounced dead at 3:55pm that day. Her star studded funeral was broadcast on national television. Her cause of death is officially listed as “accident”.
The Houston family has released a statement which says, “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”
