Kissable Lips

Are you walking around with dry cracked lips? Are those “special formulated” lip balms not cutting it for you? Well, I have a quick tip that will get your lips in tip top shape for this cold weather! Best part is, it’s DIY (Do -It-Yourself) with products I am sure you already have in your home! Let’s get started!

Products you will need:

  1. 1 tbsp Sugar (any kind will work)
  2. 1 tsp Honey
  3. 1 tsp Vaseline

Mix those three ingredients together into a small container and VOILA!!!…there goes your lip scrub. We always exfoliate our face, but we tend to forget that our lips also has sensitive skin on it too. So it is just as important to exfoliate our lips as it is for our faces.

After you applied the scrub onto your lips, leave it on for about 10 minutes, then wipe it off with a paper towel. Next apply your favorite lip balm to keep your lips moisturized. Do this 2-3 times a week, or as often as you please to 🙂

I hope this helps you all and enjoy your soft kissable lips!

Remember to stay beautiful…Inside and Out.

Vaseline + Beauty= ????

Don’t we all have a jar of Vaseline somewhere in our house? I bet it’s probably still a full jar too! Vaseline is a product that can be used in so many different ways with many different purposes. Other than the obvious use of Vaseline for small cuts, and a skin protectant, here are a list of how you can use up your Vaseline and why.

1.)    Moisturize Your Lips

We have all probably done this at some point in our lives. Way before we knew about all these different lip glosses, we used to use good ol’ fashion Vaseline. And it is still great for that purpose! It keeps your lips hydrated while giving you that perfect gloss!

2.)    Softens Your Feet

Does your foot feel like sandpaper? Vaseline can do the trick to soften those bad boys up! All you have to do is soak your feet in warm water for about 10 minutes. After that, gently rub your foot with a pumice bar (which can be purchased at your local Sally Beauty Supply store). Lastly, rub some Vaseline onto your feet, throw on a pair of socks, go to sleep and forget about it. When you wake up in the morning, you will notice that your feet are a lot softer. Do this about 2-3 times a week to maintain softness.

 3.)    Tames Your Brows

Bushy brows? Or sparse brows that just can’t seem to stay down? Use a small dab of Vaseline onto your fingertip and apply it onto your eyebrows! They are guaranteed to stay in place. Remember to use a small amount however, you don’t want to walk around with glossy brows.

 4.)    Removes Eye Makeup

Don’t you hate it when you can’t seem to get that waterproof mascara off at night? Vaseline will get rid of it! Using a towel/cloth, put a small amount onto it and gently rub it on your eye and that mascara comes sliding right off!

So there you have it! No need to have a jar of Vaseline just taking up space anymore. Now it has its purpose! I hope these tips are helpful! Keep in mind this substance can clog up your pours and you don’t want to over use it!

Remember to stay beautiful….Inside and Out.

Want Better Looking Skin?

A key to having your skin look seemingly flawless is EXFOLIATING!!!

What is exfoliation, some of you may ask? Exfolation is the treatment of buffing and removing dead skin cells. With the dead skin cells removed, you will definitely notice that your skin has a smooth and silky feel to it!

How often do you have to exfoliate? You should exfoliate no more than twice a week. Too much exfoliation can definitely irritate your skin, and that’s the last thing you want to do while trying to improve your skin.

Where can I get it done? Does it cost a lot of money?  Exfoliating is probably one of the most cheapest and cost efficient treatment you can give your face! You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars at the dermatologist and the spa…it can be done in the comfort of your own bathroom! You could spend up to $20, depending on the product brand you choose to use.

How do I exfoliate? The steps are as easy as 1…2…3. I’ll explain a few different ways of exfoliating and getting your skin looking at its best!

  1. One of the most important steps prior to exfoliating is to WASH YOUR HANDS!! Since you will be using your hands to apply the product, you don’t want to introduce any bacteria or germs from your hands to your face.
  2. Make sure that the product you choose to use is specifically for your FACE and not your BODY. Some people assume that since it’s a scrub, it’s ok to use it wherever. A body scrub is too harsh to use on your delicate face…which will in turn cause irritation.
  3. Try not to apply too much. To get an idea of how much to apply, imagine the size of a quarter. More than that would just be wasting the product.
  4. Gently apply the scrub onto your face, DO NOT vigorously rub it not. Try using light circular motions in applying it. Remember- you don’t want to irritate your skin and the skin on your face is one of the most sensitive areas on your body.
  5. If you have a mask, let it sit for  about 10 minutes– 15 the most. Then rinse it off. If it is a scrub, do circular motions for about a minute or two, then rinse it off.
  6. Last but not least, MOISTURIZE!! Moisturizing is so important, whether you exfoliate or not. But if you are going to exfoliate regularly, make it your duty to moisturize because your skin can get dry, flaky, and even worse…bring on WRINKLES! YIKES!

Here are a few suggestions on some products you can try:

  • St. Ives
  • Ahava
  • H2O Spa
  • Bliss
  • Burt’s Bees
  • Clean & Clear
  • Neutragena
  • Clearasil

All of those are affordable and can be found at Target, Walmart, or your local pharmacy. You can also check Sephora or a Clinique counter for other choices.

I hope this helps you if you were unsure about exfoliating! Enjoy your new bright, silky smooth skin :-)!
